The four Special Education courses (12 credit hours) can be completed in one year:

EDU-6356 Foundations of Special Education (3 credit hours): This course examines the educational policies, laws, and practices for delivering school-based services to individuals with disabilities.

EDU-6357 Assessment for Special Educators (3 credit hours): This course focuses on preparing, interpreting, and discussing formative and summative assessments for instructing students with disabilities.

EDU-6389 Instructional Strategies for Intensive Intervention (3 credit hours): This course develops strategies for supporting struggling students by designing intensive interventions and adapting curricula to individual needs.

EDU-6360 Behavioral Interventions in the Classroom (3 credit hours): This course explores proactive and reactive classroom management strategies within special education to support diverse behavioral needs.
If you complete the Special Education courses, you will be prepared to take the Special Education TExES (Texas Examination for Educator Standards), and passing this exam will earn you Special Education certification. Moreover, you will be equipped to advance your career in various educational roles.
