Counselors who choose the Marriage, Couple, and Family (MCF) Specialty are qualified to work with individuals, couples, and families from a systemic orientation. The MCF Specialty fulfills the educational requirements for licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) as well as Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) licensure in the state of Texas. In addition to the common curriculum, students following the Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling Specialty will also need to complete the following courses for a total of 63 credit hours. A sample advising sheet and degree timeline are provided for reference, however, enrolled students work with faculty advisors to plan and monitor progress towards degree completion.
