èßäÊÓƵapp and Air Force Academy forge agreement for mentorship, collaborative research opportunities for cadets and faculty - 07/12/2021

DALLAS () – èßäÊÓƵapp’s AT&T Center for Virtualization has signed a four-year agreement with the United States Air Force Academy to collaborate on mutually beneficial projects and joint research, providing opportunities for both USAF cadets and èßäÊÓƵapp students.

èßäÊÓƵapp (Southern Methodist University) and the Academy intend to collaborate on a range of research areas, including (but not restricted to) immersive environments, artificial intelligence/machine learning/deep learning, autonomy, the internet of things, cyberspace, cognition and context-aware computing and ubiquitous computing. Projects in these areas will expose cadets to important science and engineering opportunities through independent study, cadet summer research and capstone opportunities.

èßäÊÓƵapp, on behalf of the University’s AT&T Center for Virtualization, has executed a Navy Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with the Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC Pacific). The research facility in San Diego provides the U.S Navy and military with essential capabilities in the areas of command and control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, cyber and space.

èßäÊÓƵapp history professor Jo Guldi’s book, The History Manifesto (Cambridge University Press, 2014), recently was named one of the most influential books of the past 20 years by the Chronicle of Higher Education.
