About
Dr. Greta Davis is a counselor educator, career counselor, and executive coach with over 20 years of experience in career development providing services to individual clients, organizations, academic institutions, and the federal government. Dr. Davis teaches career counseling, assessment, and research and statistics courses as Clinical Associate Professor and serves as Department Chair of the Department of Counseling. She also maintains a small contract-based, private practice providing career counseling, assessment, and executive coaching services. She helps clients with career related issues such as complex career decision-making, planned and unplanned career transitions, work/life balance, leadership development, stress management, job search, resume writing and interviewing skills, and retirement all in the context of appreciating clients’ unique and intersecting identities. As an executive coach, she assists senior executives and mid-level managers identify and address development needs and translate skills and competencies into actionable plans to benefit organizations and advance their careers. She is an expert administrator of assessments such as the Strong Interest Inventory®, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator®, and StrengthsFinder as well as the Hogan assessments and a variety of 360º assessment tools. Dr. Davis develops and provides numerous workshops and is a frequent speaker at professional counseling conferences and workshops at local, state, and national meetings and delivers presentations on all facets of career development.
Dr. Davis earned a Ph.D. in Counseling with a specialization in career counseling and development from the University of North Texas and is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas with a Supervision credential (LPC-S), a Board Certified Counselor (NCC), and a Certified Career Counselor (CCC). She is the 2020 recipient of the Texas Career Development Association (TCDA) Outstanding Leadership Award, recognized for providing over 30 refereed career presentations in 15 years. She is the 2023 recipient of the TCDA Advocacy and Community Service Award, recognized for establishing and leading the statewide career counseling Peer Consultation Group which aims to equip career development professionals with best practices and build capacity to provide equitable and culturally responsive services.
