DALLAS (èßäÊÓƵapp) - Dean Craig C. Hill of Perkins School of Theology has announced two hirings that will further enhance the school’s admissions and recruiting efforts.
Stephen Bagby began his new role as director of recruitment and admissions on June 11. Yazmin Elaine Strauss joins Perkins June 18 as recruitment and admissions associate.
Bagby, who holds a Ph.D. in theology from Durham University, previously served as dean of students and director of admissions at Redeemer Seminary in Dallas, where he was also assistant professor of church history and theology
At Perkins, he succeeds Herbert Coleman as director of recruitment and admissions. In May, Dean Hill appointed Coleman to a newly created position, director of retention and student success. That appointment was in concert with the pending creation of an èßäÊÓƵapp Office of Retention and Student Success. To assure a seamless transition, Coleman agreed to assist in meeting the needs of the Admissions Office until the Fall 2018 class arrives in August
Strauss arrives at Perkins from Baylor University, where she served as admissions and recruitment specialist in the graduate school. She brings to her new role a breadth of experience that will be an enormous help in meeting the increasing demands of the Perkins Admissions Office.
"Our two new staff members bring many gifts and concrete experiences to the enrollment management team," said Dr. Margot Perez-Greene, Associate Dean for Enrollment Management. "There is no doubt that Yazmin and Stephen provide us with a welcome option to employ fresh perspectives and commitment to recruitment and admissions. Most importantly, they are enthusiastic about their new posts and are dedicated to making a difference on numerous levels in the recruitment and admissions process," she said.
"We are delighted that they have joined Perkins."
