Research Focus:

Numerical approximation and fast methods for boundary integral equations, with applications to computational electromagnetics, optics, and fluid mechanics.

Professor Tausch's research focuses on the numerical analysis of integral equations, partial differential equations, shape optimization and high-dimensional quadrature. Application areas include heat transfer, anomalous diffusion, fluid mechanics and wave propagation problems.

His work has appeared in Mathematics as well as Engineering publications, including Numerische Mathematik, SIAM J. Scientific Computing, SIAM J. Control and Optimization, Mathematics of Computation, Inverse Problems, Computational Mechanics, IEEE Trans. on Microwave Theory and Technology, J. Optical Soc. Amer. A and J. Engineering Mechanics.

He served on the editorial board of Applied Numerical Mathematics and is currently managing editor for the Journal of Integral Equations and Applications.
