Bio

Genevieve Soucek is a graduate student in the department's Cultural Anthropology PhD program. Her current research interests include environmental conservation, linguistic preservation and revitalization, community engagement, and belonging. Her dissertation examines at how people living in Scotland's Outer Hebrides foster a sense of belonging through place-making and linguistic revitalization efforts in the midst of environmental and economic change.
