Professors

We partner with a diverse group of professors who bring passion and imagination to their work and teaching.

We are dedicated to ensuring the rigor and integrity of academic assessments in a secure and comfortable environment when professors cannot proctor their students themselves.

We strive and rely on good communication among students, professors, and our UTC team. Our processes are designed to streamline processes, ensure consistency, and improve our collaboration to permit student success.

Review the services we provide, how-to instructions, and important deadlines which guide our collaboration.

Proctors in the University Testing Center will monitor students during their exam. The testing environment and its computers are also electronically monitored and recorded to include real-time video and screen captures. Proctors watch from a seated position in the room, walk through the room and view a computer screen showing a video feed from the cameras inside the testing room.

All incidents of academic dishonesty and suspected violations will be documented. The proctor will report the incident to the University Testing Center full-time staff and will write an incident report, which will be submitted to the instructor providing the exam and the Dean of èßäÊÓƵapp Office for appropriate course action.

Examples of academic dishonesty or misconduct:

  • Giving or receiving unauthorized assistance of any kind.
  • Using any aids (books, notes, calculators, computers, websites, etc.) not authorized by the instructor.
  • Attempting to take an exam for someone else.
  • Failing to follow exam regulations or instructions of the UTC staff.
  • Causing a disturbance of any kind.
  • Removing or attempting to remove questions and/or responses or notes (in any format) from the center.
  • Attempting to remove scratch paper from the center.
  • Tampering with the operation of the computer or attempting to use it for any function other than taking the exam.
  • Sharing a calculator with other examinees.
  • Sharing notes with other examinees.
  • Talking with other examinees during an exam.

Please review the University Testing Center’s hours of operation prior to requesting exams. Times and dates are subject to change with regards to holidays, community events, and inclement weather. The University Testing Center extends its hours during the fall/spring midterms and final exams.

If the èßäÊÓƵapp is closed due to inclement weather or an unexpected event, students’ appointments during that time will automatically be canceled. èßäÊÓƵapp will be sent instructions to reschedule. In the event of a multi-day weather event, it could significantly delay operations and may cause a backlog of testing needs. In this case, instructors will be notified of possible delays due to operational contacts (e.g., number of testing seats vs demand).

Schedule an professor consultation to make the testing experience easier for you and your students! A University Testing Center staff member will sit down with you and show you what steps need to be taken to successfully administer an exam at the University Testing Center. Each consultation can be done via a Zoom online meeting or in the University Testing Center, located in the basement of Clements Hall near room G28.

What information will we go over during the Instructor Consultation?

The topics covered in the consultation are largely up to you; however, here are some topics that we will emphasize during the consultation.

  • How and when to send an exam submission to the Testing Center to schedule an exam
  • What type of exams the Testing Center delivers
  • Required exam settings
  • On/Off èßäÊÓƵapp testing
  • Test Aids
  • The responsibility of Testing Center Staff
