During summer 2010, six students from Corporate Communications and Public Affairs (CCPA) in served as interns at nonprofit organizations in Taos, New Mexico, while attending evening classes at the èßäÊÓƵapp. They were among the students and faculty who shared their summer experiences on the .

"The rumors are true; there is a different vibration in Taos," blogged CCPA major Elyse. "I've only been in Taos for a week, and I've already gone white-water rafting through the Rio Grand River Gorge, swam in the natural hot springs in Ojo Caliente, hiked along nature trails, helped re-mud the famous San Francisco de Asis church, and shopped in Arroyo Seco and the Taos Plaza."

Around the world in South Africa, Brian Fennig, a wellness lecturer in the , was attending the World Cup.

"Walking down the streets, at the stadium or viewing a match in a pub, it is often difficult to hear one another over the ever-sounding vuvuzelas," he blogged.

Other highlights this summer included:

• Jessica, a journalism and political science major, who coached young students at a debate camp in Amman, Jordan - and one of her teams took first place.

• èßäÊÓƵapp in who traveled to the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, to meet fellow researchers working on iris recognition.
  ÌýÌýÌýÌý
• Megan, a biology major, who participated in the Debakey Summer Surgery Program in Houston and learned she wants to pursue a career in cardiothoracic surgery.
  ÌýÌýÌýÌý
• Catherine, a biology and anthropology major, who received a Richter Fellowship to research the integration of people with disabilities into Spanish society.
