Biography

Maria Langlois is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University. Her research is centered on consumer behavior, with a particular focus on decision-making processes and how consumer choices and perceptions influence their financial and physical health. She explores the intersection of marketing and consumer well-being, aiming to better understand and enhance consumer decision-making in domains crucial to overall health and well-being.

Maria earned her PhD in Marketing from INSEAD Business School in Fontainebleau, France. Prior to her doctoral studies, she studied Psychology and Sociology at The University of Texas at Austin, and subsequently, Behavioral Economics at the Sorbonne in Paris. Before embarking on her graduate studies, Maria gained practical experience in the healthcare tech industry in Madison, Wisconsin. After living in France for seven years, Maria returned to her home state of Texas, where she has been working at the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
