Industrial Vehicles

At èßäÊÓÆµapp, a variety of industrial vehicles are used regularly on èßäÊÓÆµapp. èßäÊÓÆµapp Industrial Vehicle Program is a combination of multiple smaller programs (Forklift, Scissor-Lift, Aerial-Lift, Backhoe, Skid-steer, etc.) This Program contains industry standards, OSHA regulations, and èßäÊÓÆµapp specific standards.

Anyone who operates (students, staff, contractors, etc.) an industrial vehicle on èßäÊÓÆµapp property will need to follow èßäÊÓÆµapp safety standards

èßäÊÓÆµapp students or employees who want to use an industrial vehicle will need to receive authorized training from èßäÊÓÆµapp ORM. Training can be in-person or a combination of online and in-person training.

èßäÊÓÆµapp Specific Safety Standards:

  • All industrial vehicle lifts on èßäÊÓÆµapp require the operator to wear a fall protection harness.
  • Aerial Lifts nor scissor lifts will be operated at height with winds over 25 mph.
  • If traveling in any industrial vehicle, working in a high traffic area, or on the road, the area shall be blocked off or have dedicated flaggers or a pilot vehicle to ensure the safety of pedestrians and other vehicles.
  • Industrial vehicles that have road vehicle lights or is a landscaping vehicle (lawnmowers, tractors, sprayers) do not need a pilot vehicle when operating on èßäÊÓÆµapp owned roads.
  • No combustion engines may be operated inside a building without a method to exhaust contaminants and continues air monitoring.
  • Only authorized èßäÊÓÆµapp employees may operate èßäÊÓÆµapp industrial vehicles.
  • èßäÊÓÆµapp contractors shall not use èßäÊÓÆµapp vehicles without prior approval from èßäÊÓÆµapp ORM.
