The èßäÊÓƵapp Amazon Business Account must be used for business purposes only. No personal purchases may be made from a Southern Methodist University email address in the Amazon Business Account.
Through this central Amazon Business account you will have immediate access to:
- Free Two-Day Shipping on orders over $25 (learn more)
- Pricing and quantity discounts on select items
- Education-tailored search and browse functionality
- Access to a specialized Customer Service team
Everything else you know and love about shopping on Amazon.com will remain the same.
You should use your èßäÊÓƵapp email addresses for the Amazon Business account. If you are using your èßäÊÓƵapp email addresses for personal purchases, login with your account and change to a personal address (e.g., free Gmail or Yahoo accounts) before accepting the invitation to join the Amazon Business account.

How to Join:
Send an email to purchasing@smu.edu to request access to èßäÊÓƵapp Business Account. You will then receive an invite. Click on accept invite and it will take you to a log in page. Follow instructions below.
Instructions:
Joining business account with already established account using your èßäÊÓƵapp email:
1. Accept invite
2. Click Continue
3. A login screen with your èßäÊÓƵapp email address will appear. Login as usual.
4. Confirm & Continue
5. A pop up box in regards to account use for business only- click Confirm & Continue
6. Complete
7. The last screen will confirm your account is now business ready
Joining business account with no established account using your èßäÊÓƵapp email:
1. Accept invite
2. Click Continue
3. A login screen with your èßäÊÓƵapp email address will appear. Create a password.
4. Confirm & Continue
5. A pop up box in regards to account use for business only- click Confirm & Continue
6. Complete
7. The last screen will confirm your account set up & is ready for use
Tax Exemption:
You must go in your account and create your Texas sales tax exemption. Instructions for creating tax exemption & requesting tax refund. We are tax exempt in other states. Please visit the Tax website for the complete list with their certificates.
1. Each individual p-card holder must upload a tax exemption form
2. Amazon does pass along your tax exemption status to our 3rd party re-sellers
3. Sometimes- a 3rd party re-seller makes a mistake and charges you tax
4. Amazon has a tax team: tax-exempt@amazon.com
a. If you send any issues that you have to that email address they will verify your status and issue a refund as appropriate.
