Student Academic Success Programs

Student Academic Success Programs (SASP) is dedicated to helping all undergraduate students conquer academic challenges and excel in their coursework. Programs are designed to maximize learning potential and academic performance for honors and scholar recipients, first-generation students, veterans, international students, student-athletes, and more.

We have something for everyone.

Services are located in the Altshuler Learning Enhancement Center (A-LEC) and include , the faculty-led Writing Center, Academic Skill Development, and the Disability Accommodations and Success Strategies teams.

    Altshuler Learning Enhancement Center (A-LEC)

    The A-LEC is a highly utilized resource for undergraduate students at èßäÊÓƵapp. Located at 202 Loyd All Sports Center, the A-LEC offers services such as tutoring and a writing center to help students improve their grades and manage stress levels.  Contact the A-LEC at a-lec@smu.edu.

    First Generation Initative (FGI)

    FGI is a hub for èßäÊÓƵapp students who are the first in their family to go to college. We offer signature programs, events, resources, and individual support to first-generation students. Contact FGI at 1stgen@smu.edu.
